the world’s finest grain

It’s really quite a thing that I have had this sitting in my kitchen for 5 days and it hasn’t been opened and tested yet. I am a big lover of analog photography (my finances disapprove of that when I go shutter-crazy, think Argentina trip 2005: 2 weeks, 13 planes, 5 locations and 25 rolls of film) and I have been drooling over Kodak’s new release since I heard about it. Only problem: it’s quite hard to get around here if you are a poor student. Good thing I have friends who live in Cali. Better yet, instead of shipping me rolls of film, they actually dropped by and after 19 hours on planes and two wild days in munich, EKTAR 100 made its way into my life.

The World's finest grain

I feel a little bad, because after all, EKTAR has been labeled as “the world’s finest grain”. With its amazing attention to detail and accuracy in capturing colors, it’s meant to come really close to what digital photography wants to achieve. I almost feel like I am betraying analog for digital..
